GHOSTS & ESKIMOS/Blueprint Music/BloomBox

Here is Blueprint Music performing Ghosts and Eskimos from their latest album of the same name--at least for now. :) This is the first concert in the fantastic BloomBox House Concert Series (BloomBoxHouseConcertsDOTblogspotDOTcom). This song was aptly saved for the finale. ESKIMO/INUIT FACTOID: The Inuit of the Arctic region were called Eskimos by the Cree Indians. The true source and meaning of the term is not and may never be known. Some think it derives from one or more Cree words meaning "raw meat," "eggs," "eater of raw meat," etc. Some Inuit consider it derogatory and prefer Inuit. Some think it may stem from a Cree word for people that lace snowshoes. Others chalk it up to folklore and confusion (just like "niggardly" confuses people as to its origins). But, either way, you can still enjoy this video of Ghosts and Eskimos and/or Inuit. :) As the lead singer Kate mentions, the controversial or innocent word isn't even in the song. NOTE: Sorry this is a little on the dark side; glaring lights would detract from a cozy house concert settng so only existing lighting was used. The audio comes through pretty good though for youtube.
Video Rating: 4 / 5

I love the music. Kate Lamont is a powerhouse of a singer. But what in the heck is all of the continuous junk at the bottom of the screen. How annoying. Just concentrate on the music.
